About New Highmark Stadium
New Highmark Stadium is a $1.7 billion venue designed by Populous, the architecture firm behind twelve other active NFL stadiums. Built directly across Abbott Road from the original Highmark Stadium, the new facility sits on approximately 242 acres with a building footprint of 1.35 million square feet.
The stadium features a stacked bowl design that brings seating significantly closer to the field than the previous stadium. With a total capacity of approximately 67,000 (62,000 fixed seats plus a 5,000-person standing-room-only deck), the new venue is more intimate than its predecessor, which had a capacity of roughly 71,600.
New Highmark Stadium is not a dome. It is an open-air stadium with a canopy structure that protects approximately 65% of the seats from the elements. The playing field will remain exposed to the weather, preserving the outdoor, cold-weather identity that has long defined the Bills’ home-field experience. The field surface is natural Kentucky bluegrass.
Key Features
- Stacked bowl architecture: Seating is designed to be much closer to the field than the old stadium and many other NFL venues.
- Two state-of-the-art video boards: A major AV upgrade over the previous stadium, with a targeted acoustic system that can direct sound to specific areas of the bowl.
- 360° concourse visibility: Every concourse level offers a direct sightline into the bowl, so fans stay connected to the action even when visiting concessions or restrooms.
- Radiant heat throughout concourses: Heated areas at key congregation points on every concourse level.
- Frictionless food and beverage marketplaces: Modern concession stands designed for speed and convenience.
- Enhanced 5G Ultra-Wide Band coverage: Verizon’s state-of-the-art small cell technology (DRAN) covers the stadium and surrounding tailgate campus.
- Natural grass playing surface: Kentucky bluegrass grown at Tuckahoe Turf Farms in New Jersey.
- 4,400 perforated steel exterior panels: Each panel features holes shaped like the Bills’ charging buffalo logo.

Best Seats at New Highmark Stadium
New Highmark Stadium’s stacked design means sightlines are generally improved across the board compared to the old venue. The Bills and Populous have stated that the stadium was engineered so that seating is, in general, much closer to the field than the previous stadium and many other NFL venues.
Best seats for sightlines: Midfield sections in the lower bowl, between the 20-yard lines, offer the best direct views of the action. As with most NFL stadiums, rows slightly elevated above field level (rather than the very front row) provide the ideal vantage point to see the full field over sideline personnel.
Best seats for value: The stacked design compresses sightline distances, meaning upper-level sideline seats should offer better views than comparable sections in the old stadium. These are likely to be the best value-to-view ratio in the building.
Best seats for weather protection: Approximately 65% of seats are covered by the canopy structure. Lower bowl seats between the 20-yard lines and club-level seating should offer the most shelter from snow and wind. Upper-deck and end-zone sections that fall outside the canopy will be fully exposed.
[TBD] Once the official seating chart is released, this section should specify which section numbers are covered by the canopy and which are exposed.
Best seats for the Bills Mafia experience: The 5,000-person standing-room-only deck is a brand-new feature designed for fans who want maximum energy and atmosphere. The exact location and pricing of the SRO deck will be confirmed closer to opening. Upper-level sections will also remain the rowdiest areas.
Best seats for away fans: Away fan seating has not been officially designated for the new stadium. Traditionally, Bills away sections have been in the upper-end zone. Expect a passionate home crowd throughout the entire venue.
Sections to avoid: Upper end-zone corners farthest from the canopy coverage will have the least weather protection and the most obstructed sightlines when play moves to the opposite end of the field. If the budget allows, midfield sections at any level are worth the upgrade.
New Highmark Stadium Seat Numbers:
Specific section numbers, row counts, and seat numbering conventions for the new stadium have not yet been publicly confirmed. The section below should be updated once the official seating chart is released. The old stadium used sections 101–140 in the lower bowl and 201–244 in the upper level.
The official seating chart for New Highmark Stadium, including detailed section, row, and seat numbers, will be available as the stadium approaches its opening. We will update this page with the full layout as soon as it is confirmed.
Where is the Buffalo Bills Bench?
[TBD] The exact sections in front of the home and visitor benches have not been confirmed for New Highmark Stadium.
At the original Highmark Stadium, the Buffalo Bills bench was in front of sections 131–136, and the visitors’ bench was in front of sections 109–114. The new stadium’s bench locations will follow a similar sideline arrangement, but exact section numbers will be updated once the official seating chart is published.
If you want to sit near the Bills’ sideline for the closest view of Josh Allen and the offense during warmups, target lower-bowl midfield sections on the home side. For opposing-team fans, the visitor sideline offers a comparable field-level view.
Club Seats at New Highmark Stadium
New Highmark Stadium features a significantly expanded premium seating program compared to the old venue. The Bills have announced three primary club tiers, all of which sold out during the pre-sale process:
Founders Club
The Founders Club is the highest-tier premium seating option at New Highmark Stadium. It includes all-inclusive food and beverages, heated, wider, cushioned seats, a private whiskey locker, and access to a climate-controlled lounge. The Founders Club is effectively sold out.
East Club
The East Club is another premium-tier offering with upscale amenities and enhanced sightlines. Like the Founders Club, the East Club is effectively sold out.
[TBD] Specific section numbers, row counts, and detailed amenities for the East Club have not been fully disclosed.
Field Club
The Field Club offers a field-level premium experience. Availability was extremely limited as of early 2026.
[TBD] Specific section numbers and amenities for the Field Club have not been fully disclosed.
M&T Bank Lounge
The M&T Bank Lounge is described as a premier 365-day venue inside New Highmark Stadium, meaning it will be open for events beyond just Bills game days.
Caesars Sportsbook Lounge
A Caesars Sportsbook Lounge will be included in New Highmark Stadium, continuing the partnership from the old venue. Details on seating configuration and section numbers are pending.
Club seating at the old Highmark Stadium was located on the 200-level along the sidelines (sections 206–217 on the visitor’s sideline and 229–238 on the home sideline), with wider seats, covered seating, and radiant heaters. The new stadium’s premium layout is expected to offer a substantially upgraded experience compared to the legacy club areas.
