Best Seats at Raymond James Stadium
Raymond James Stadium is an open-air venue in Tampa that opened in 1998 and is best known for the massive 103-foot-tall pirate ship located in the north end zone. The ship is fully functional, firing cannons whenever the Buccaneers score a touchdown or field goal. The stadium is also home to one of the NFL’s largest video board installations. Tampa’s climate means early-season games can be very hot and humid, while late-season games are among the most pleasant in the league.
Best seats for sightlines: Lower level sections 101 through 153 wrap the field. The prime sideline sections are 110 through 140, with sections 120 through 132 near the 50-yard line delivering the best on-field views. Rows 15 through 30 in those sections provide the right angle on the action.
Best seats for value: Upper-level sections in the 300s and 400s on the sidelines are the best budget option. Sections 308 through 328 on the east sideline and 332 through 348 on the west sideline give you complete field coverage. Early-season games in Tampa’s heat make upper-level shade a priority consideration.
Best seats for the pirate ship experience: Lower level sections 101 through 108 in the north end zone are directly adjacent to the pirate ship. From these sections, you get up-close views of the ship and the cannon fire on every Bucs score. This is one of the most unique stadium feature experiences in the NFL. Lower end zone sections 101 through 105 are directly beneath the ship’s cannons.
Best seats for shade: Raymond James Stadium is open-air, and September and October games in Tampa can be brutally hot. The east-side upper-level sections 308 through 328 receive shade in the second half of afternoon games as the sun moves west. Early-season east side seats are more comfortable than west side seats for daytime games.
Best seats for away fans: Upper south end zone sections are the traditional away fan territory. Tampa’s fanbase is passionate, but the stadium’s large capacity and warm climate make it a popular away-trip destination, so visiting fans are not uncommon.
Sections to avoid: West-side upper-level sections in the 340s and beyond are fully exposed to the afternoon sun during early-season games, making September and October afternoon games very uncomfortable. A hat, sunscreen, and hydration are essential if you purchase those seats in warm weather.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Stadium Seat Numbers
Understanding the seat numbers is essential to finding the best Raymond James Stadium seat view within your budget. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, part of the NFC South Conference, play at Raymond James Stadium.
Seat numbers follow a simple pattern. Seat 1 is always on the aisle closer to the lower-numbered adjacent section. For example, seat 1 in section 110 is on the aisle closest to section 109, and seat 24 is next to section 111.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Club Seating
The club seats at Raymond James Stadium are located on the 200 level in sections 205-216 and 230-241. Tampa Bay Bucs club seats are two inches wider than regular seats and are cushioned.
They also provide access to an air-conditioned concourse with restaurants, bars, and lounge seating. At the club level, there are 27 lettered rows of seats, which is much larger than most NFL club sections.
Buccaneers Cove at Raymond James Stadium
Buccaneers Cove at Raymond James Stadium is located behind sections 146-150, and “harbors” a mighty pirate ship, which fires its cannons after each Bucs score (7 times for a touchdown, 3 for a field goal, and 2 for a safety).
Raymond James Stadium Reviews
“Despite the Bucs’ and USF’s losing streak, going to Raymond James Stadium (“Ray Jay”) is always a good time. Traffic and parking around the stadium on game days aren’t too bad. The facility is always clean and I feel safe being in it. The only thing is that Raymond James is an outdoor stadium so it can get quite hot in the Florida heat.
The best part about the stadium is the pirate ship, of course. The cannon is fired once for each point scored. I haven’t been on the ship yet, but it’s fun being near it because throughout the game people on the ship would throw beads, t-shirts, and other free prizes to the people below.”
